With every single or regular donation you are helping to guarantee the continuing of the
existence of ENPA. Like the laws in Germany demand, ENPA Alive e.V., as a german
social and charitable organization, we are a non-profit organization. No member earns
even a single amount of the donated money nor a remuneration. We are not renting
office buildings and all the materials and expenses are, as far as possible, paid privately.
ENPA Alive e.V. exists as an interface/connection between the donors in Europe (and
other parts of the globe of course) and ENPA in Ethiopia.
„Why shouldn’t I send my donations to ENPA in Ethiopia directly? Why is “ENPA
Alive e.V.” in Germany even necessary?”
Every single financial transaction out of Germany to a bank based in Addis Ababa costs
34 Euros! For example: If every donation about 50 Euro is send directly to ENPA, only
16 Euros would even reach ENPA’s bank account. This is definitely not in the donor’s
interests and especially not in ours!
We, as ENPA Alive e.V. are in the privileged and fortunate situation that our association
is based in Germany. This leads to the situation, that the financial support out of the
surrounding European states (and Germany of course) is connected with multiple less
costs.
Our proceed: We collect all of the donations on our bank account (in Germany) and
send the money to ENPA collectively. We will make it dependend if the amount of money
has reached a specific total amount so that the 34 Euro-sending fee is manageable. Or
we will do it when a specific date has arrived, for example every quarter, when we will
send our transaction to ENPA in Ethiopia.
„How much money do we need?“
This is indeed not an easy answerable question:
At the end of the day we need as much as we can collect. The rent, the administration
costs of the teachers, the children’s food, the school’s materials (and so on) are
fundamental needs that has to be paid.
Every donation is helping us! If we collect less than we need then ENPA has to reduce
their actions of their project. The result would bring a lot of children back to their life of
poverty without any perspective. In the long term ENPA cannot survive when we
continue to take less than we need!
But hopefully if we are able to collect the amount of money that keeps ENPA in their
present situation or even more than this, then we guarantee ENPA’s surviving and could
even extend the project. With every “further Euro” the possibility to give another child a
future and perspective in life increases.
